Womens advancement group hosts funding advice session
"Fuel for Funding: Opportunities and Challenges for Supporting Interdisciplinary Research" a half-day workshop May 9th, from 10:30am - 4:00pm, is aimed at providing interdisciplinary faculty with insights and practical advice on identifying and obtaining funding for your research and/or scholarly work.
The agenda for the day is below, and includes a morning discussion panel with:
UMD Vice President for Research Patrick O'Shea
UMD Vice President for University Relations Peter Weiller
and STEM Council Members:
Donna Dean, founding director of the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering
Vivian Pinn, founding director of the Office of Research on Women's Health
After lunch (provided) we will host a conversation with our ADVANCE Senior STEM Women's Councils (bios attached), and facilitate research funding brainstorming sessions with associate deans for research, senior interdisciplinary faculty, ADVANCE Professors, and STEM Council members.
We think it will be a productive and interesting session for all!
Please note - this event is open to all women faculty, research faculty, and postdoctorals interested in or currently working on interdisciplinary research and/or scholarly work at UMD. Please forward!
