I am currently a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Maryland, College Park at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering. At Wachsman Lab, I strive to research Garnet-type Li-S Batteries with High Energy Density, Tape-Casted Ceramic Synthesis and Advanced Characterizations to deeply understand the fundamentals on cathode/electrolyte interface. Some highlights of my research work include:

(1). Unveiled the garnet Li-S battery charge failure mechanism

(2). Achieved stable cycling of garnet Li-S batteries at room temperature under high current density (80% capacity retention after 265 cycles under a sulfur mass loading of 5.2 mg/cm2 and discharge current density of 1.74 mA/cm2 with an energy density of 179 Wh/kg and 616 Wh/L)

(3). First in the field to achieve the "all-solid-state" Li-S batteries using garnet solid electrolyte

My research focuses on tuning cathode/electrolyte interface in the context of garnet type Lithium-Sulfur batteries. Some of my achievements are highlighted in my overview section. Specifically, my research involves materials chemistry designs, tape-casted ceramic-synthesis and characeterizations (XRD, SEM/EDX, ToF-SIMS, Raman, FTIR, XPS etc.)
