Clark School hosts PowerMEMS 2009 attendees for luncheon, lab tours
As part of their conference program, attendees of the 9th International Workshop on Micro and Nanotechnology for Power Generation and Energy Conversion Applications (PowerMEMS 2009) spent time on the University of Maryland campus Dec. 3. They were guests at a special luncheon in the rotunda of the Jeong H. Kim Building as well as tours of six Clark School laboratories related to their field:
The Advanced Fuel Cell and Battery Lab, led by Chunsheng Wang
The Center of Fuel Cell Research, headed by Greg Jackson
The MEMS Sensors and Actuators Lab, directed by Reza Ghodssi
The Micro Reacting Flow Lab, led by Christopher Cadou
The Nano-Bio Systems Lab, directed by Gary Rubloff
The Maryland NanoCenter FabLab, headed by Jim O'Connor
The PowerMEMS 2009 conference was chaired by ISR Director Reza Ghodssi (ECE/ISR). More than 180 visitors from all over the world attended the conference, from universities like Tokyo University, Tohoku University, Seoul National University, Stanford, MIT, UC-Berkeley, Georgia Institute of Technology, Imperial College London, EPFL, Freiburg University and more.
